Apply for services
Worried about how you, your child or a family member is developing? You can apply to us. Applying is free, and you can apply no matter what your citizenship status is.
First, check that we can help people age 3 and older or babies and toddlers.
How to apply
Fill in the online form
Choose English or Spanish. You can apply for yourself or for someone in your care.
Send the papers you have
For example, a school plan (IEP) or medical records. If you have none yet, that is fine. Many young children have never had a test before.
Sign the consent form
This lets us start the tests and checks. Please do not forget this step.
Talk with our intake team
We will call or email you. We may ask for more papers and set up tests. Please answer our calls and emails soon, so we can keep moving.
Get our decision
For a child under 3, we decide within 45 days. For anyone 3 or older, we decide within 120 days. Your intake counselor will tell you the decision.
If you do not agree with our decision
If we decide you cannot get services, we will send you a letter. It tells you how to appeal. We encourage you to appeal if you think our decision is wrong. Read about your rights.
For doctors and other professionals
You can refer someone with their permission, or their parent’s or guardian’s permission. Use the provider referral form (on the current WRC website).
